The Beor Mountains are a huge mountain range located on the south east side of Alagaësia. The Beor Mountains hides and provides a home for the Varden and the Dwarves. With some mountain peeks as high as ten miles, they offer ample protection against the most dangerous enemies.

| Hadarac Desert
The Hadarac Desert covers the majority of Alagaësia, and is one of the largest areas of land that is out of the Empire's control. Because of the size of the Hadarac Desert, it is nearly impossible for the Empire to control what lies on the other side. The Desert is miles wide, and has no food or water until you reach the other side. The only shelter you may find lay in the few mountains, where only the brave dwell.

Du Weldenvarden, meaning "The Guarding Forest" is home to the legendary race of elves, sometimes called the Fair Folk. Magic flows thick throughout the forest, and magical plants and creatures are abundant. You must be invited by an elf to come here.

Surda was once a part of the Empire, but after the Fall of the Dragon Riders it became independent of Galbatorix's ruling. Over the years, it became a sanctuary for all chased by the Empire or that opposed it. Since the Varden were created that it is suspected that Surda has a connection with them and supports them. Surda has recently revealed they are indeed supporting the Varden. At the moment, Surda is ruled by King Orrin.

| Dras-Leona
Dras-Leona is major city situated by Leona Lake and Helgrind, a great mountain which means "the gates of death" in the Ancient Language. Helgrind is also where the Ra'zac are said to live.

| Teirm
Teirm is located along the shore of the Sea, and is a major trading city for the Empire. The city itself is contained behind a huge white wall, at least a hundred feet tall and thirty feet wide. The top of the walled is covered in rows of rectangular arrow slits lining it and a walkway on top for soldiers and watchmen. The castle of Teirm was the only thing visible over the huge wall. The houses were grim and foreboding, with flat roofs for archers to perch on incase of emergency. The town's shortest buildings lined the edge of the city, progressively getting taller as you go further in.

| Palancar Valley (2 sub-boards)
A valley in northern Alagaësia. The base of the Igualda Falls makes up the northern most point of the valley. A little ways away from the falls is Carvahall. The Anora River wound from the falls toward Palancar's southern end. It passed the village of Therinsford also in the Palancar Valley. There are no more villages in the valley. Few came this far north except for merchants and trappers.
